Releasing Radio Frequencies for Mobile Broadband

  1. To provide mobile broadband operators with radio frequencies they need, competent authorities prepare radio frequencies for mobile broadband according to Article 52 of the Telecommunications Management Act and announce their release according to Article 54 of the same act.
  2. Prior to the implementation of the Telecommunications Management Act on July 1, 2020, telecommunication operators must first apply to run mobile broadband businesses before applying for frequency assignment according to the Regulations for Administration of Mobile Broadband Businesses, which was authorized and created under the Telecommunications Act. The aforementioned frequencies have been transferred under the jurisdiction of the Telecommunications Management Act according to Article 83 of the Act. 
  3. Between 2013 and 2020, there were four license issuance periods for the following mobile broadband radio frequencies: 700, 900, 1800 MHz; 2500 and 2600 MHz; 1800 and 2100 MHz; and 1800, 3500, 28000 MHz. Details can be found in the Mobile Broadband License Issuance section.
