Say Goodbye to IC Card Readers! MyData Online Application Service No Longer Requires Physical IC Card, Diverse Identity Verification Is Now More Convenient.
The Ministry of Digital Affairs (moda) stated that the "MyData Platform" provides convenient and diverse online personalized data downloading and service application options. It offers ten types of identity verification methods, with the verification level determined by the data-providing agency according to the data sensitivity. Individuals can choose the most convenient method based on the verification level that best fits their needs. Take the recently popular "Certificate of Entry and Exit Date" as an example; individuals can verify their identity using physical cards such as chip financial cards or health insurance cards on the MyData platform. Alternatively, those without physical cards at hand can opt for verification using mobile citizen digital certificates or "mobile phone number + health insurance card number," among other methods for identity verification. The multiple verification method lets them quickly and conveniently obtain entry- and exit-related information from the National Immigration Agency of the Ministry of the Interior. In the past two weeks, there have been over 160,000 applications, with an accumulated number exceeding 170,000.
The moda highlighted the importance of reducing people's time and effort spent traveling to government departments and applying for personal certificates or services in person. To address this, MyData Platform, the core principle of "people's voluntary consent and secure data access, provides safe, convenient, and trustworthy online services. The MyData platform was officially launched on April 15, 2021. It has integrated with 80 central and local government agencies, financial institutions, and other organizations, offering over 900 data downloads and service applications with a cumulative usage exceeding 1.47 million times. Through the MyData platform, people can access personalized data from various government agencies without the need to visit in person. Service applications become more convenient by undergoing online identity verification and providing personal consent. The moda continues to improve the diversity and convenience of MyData identity verification while strengthening the mechanism for informed consent. During user operations, individuals are notified via SMS or email, and they can also check their usage records for the past two years on the MyData platform.
The moda provides examples to illustrate how government agencies promote digital convenience services by continuously integrating various application services with the MyData platform. This eliminates the need for people to travel back and forth and collect required documents, as well as reduces time spent on applications and paper consumption. For instance, services like "Social Housing Rental Application" and "Tax Convenience Services" require various certificates such as household registration,low-income and middle-low-income households, and disability identification or (and) certification. Through the MyData platform, individuals can receive all the necessary documents after verifying their identity and obtaining consent. They no longer need to apply for and collect data from multiple sources, reducing the time and cost of application for the public.
The moda emphasizes its commitment to continuously deepening the mechanism for independent data application. It will collaborate with central and local governments to develop various theme-based convenience services across agencies, departments, and regions. This effort aims to provide the public with a safer and more convenient smart lifestyle.
