MODA's IT Month Vision Pavilion Showcases Digital Public Infrastructure and Services
The 2024 IT Month has successfully concluded. The Ministry of Digital Affairs (the MODA) curated the Digital Public Infrastructure Vision Pavilion under the theme Digital Convenience Store, showcasing innovative applications including Digital Wallet, Public Code Platform, Civic Tech Experimental Field, and Presidential Hackathon International Track. These exhibitions presented a comprehensive vision for the future of digital public infrastructure. The pavilion attracted many visitors during the exhibition, who experienced new digital lifestyle models through interactive games.
MODA explained that the Digital Public Infrastructure Vision Pavilion simulated a 24/7 digital service environment using the concept of a digital convenience store. The Digital Wallet connected various themes in the pavilion, allowing visitors to experience personal digital autonomy by deciding which digital credentials or information issued by government agencies or commercial companies to store or display on their mobile devices, such as mobile Citizen Digital Certificates, insurance cards, and educational certificates. The exhibition helped citizens understand how they can access convenient and quality digital services from both government and private sectors in a secure and privacy-protected environment by using the Digital Wallet's verification functions.
MODA indicated that the Vision Pavilion showcased the latest achievements in civic tech experimental fields and public code platforms. These included the Online Appointment and Query System for Children's Early Intervention Assessment (a collaboration between Taoyuan City Government and Sanao Tech Action Team) and the Low-Carbon Meal Carbon Emission Calculation Platform (a partnership between Taitung County Government and Carbon Reduction Slow Food Restaurant). These projects encourage public participation in co-creating digital public infrastructure, offering services that better meet diverse community needs. This year's Presidential Hackathon International Track focused on digital net-zero solutions, leading Taiwan toward a greener, more innovative future.
The exhibition also featured several keynote speeches, offering in-depth insights into the applications of the Digital Wallet. The exhibition's Digital Convenience Stamp Collection Activity was popular among visitors, allowing participants to collect stamps and receive small gifts that colorize the visiting experience.
MODA stated that the 2024 IT Month successfully demonstrated the application of digital public infrastructure in daily life. The MODA will continue to promote and refine these initiatives, working with various sectors to build a convenient, smart, and secure digital society, welcoming a new era of digital transformation and public convenience.
