2025 Presidential Hackathon International Track Now Open for Submissions: Global Innovators Invited to Co-Create a Resilient and Sustainable Future

In response to the global call for digital innovation and sustainable development, the 2025 Presidential Hackathon International Track officially opened for submissions on June 16. This year’s theme, “Digital Innovation for Resilience and Sustainability”, invites global citizens to leverage digital technologies in addressing critical challenges and shaping a more resilient and sustainable future. The call for submissions focuses on two key objectives: “Strengthening Whole-of-Society Resilience”, by enhancing society’s capacity to respond to and recover from emergencies, such as human-made or natural disasters; and “Promoting Sustainable Development”, by fostering environmental and resource conservation, supporting policymakers in creating smarter policies and services, and building a more sustainable and livable society. Winning teams will receive travel subsidies to visit Taiwan for proposal demonstrations and engage in matchmaking with local stakeholders, and explore potential implementation pathways.

Overseen by the Office of the President, organized by the Executive Yuan, and executed by the Ministry of Digital Affairs, Presidential Hackathon International Track aligns with the United Nations’ 17 “Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2030”. Throughout the competition, the Ministry of Digital Affairs will offer participating teams robust support, including expert mentorship, cross-sector resource matching, and assistance in refining the feasibility and impact of proposals. Outstanding finalist teams selected in the championship round will be invited to the Office of the President to present their proposals and receive awards directly from the President for their innovation and contributions to public problem-solving.

The Ministry of Digital Affairs warmly welcomes innovators, developers, designers, and professionals from around the world, regardless of age or nationality, to submit secure and innovative solutions to pressing global issues, utilizing open data, emerging technologies, and resilience-focused thinking. Submissions are open through August 8. Join us in accelerating the realization of a better, more resilient future.
