Applying for Social Housing Made Easy—Get It Done Online Quickly with MODA’s MyData Platform

Interested in applying for social housing but worried about complicated procedures? Now, through the Ministry of Digital Affairs’ (MODA) Human-Centered Data Use (MyData) Platform, you can complete the entire process online, making your social housing application faster and more convenient. Currently, the National Housing and Urban Regeneration Center under the Ministry of the Interior, as well as the cities of Taipei, Taoyuan, Taichung, and Tainan, have integrated with the MyData platform to provide social housing application services. No need to leave home, prepare paper documents, or queue at government offices—simply complete your application online with ease. Application periods for social housing vary by region. Members of the public are encouraged to make use of the service according to their needs.

MODA pointed out that through the MyData platform, members of the public can quickly obtain relevant information such as household registration, property ownership, and income data, eliminating the cumbersome process of applying in person at government offices and preparing paper documents. Information related to family members required for a social housing application can also be quickly retrieved via the MyData platform after each family member completes identity verification. By using the MyData platform, not only is data accuracy improved, but the overall application processing time can also be effectively reduced.

For example, MODA is currently collaborating with the Taipei Housing and Urban Regeneration Center to allow pre-registration for social housing applications. Members of the public may visit the Taipei City Social Housing Unified Registration Platform at any time and use MyData to connect their information for pre-registration, thereby becoming a “prospective applicant.” In the future, the Taipei City Social Housing Unified Registration Platform will proactively notify prospective applicants of social housing rental information. Members of the public will only need to log in again and click “Apply for Social Housing” to complete the application process with a single click. To encourage the public to experience digital application services, those who complete registration before the end of February 2026 will also be eligible to participate in a lucky draw for a chance to win convenience store gift vouchers.

MODA stated that the MyData platform integrates data across government agencies and operates under a user consent mechanism. While ensuring personal data security and privacy protection, it helps members of the public to utilize personal information already held by government agencies, thereby reducing the need for travel and administrative burdens. In the future, MODA will continue to promote the expansion of MyData platform applications across government agencies, state-owned enterprises, and financial institutions, further enhancing the digitalization and convenience of public services.
