Minister Tang visits Lithuania, takes part in inaugural Free Digital Democracy Dialogue

Minister of Digital Affairs Audrey Tang visited Lithuania Jan. 10 to 13 at the head of an nine-member delegation aimed at deepening friendship and expanding exchanges between Taiwan and the EU member state. 
 
Making her first overseas trip since the launch of the Ministry of Digital Affairs in August 2022, Tang met with government officials, members of parliament, innovation experts and participated in the inaugural Free Digital Democracy Dialogue, or F3D, Jan. 12 at Vilnius University’s Institute of International Relations and Political Science.
 
Tang, shared Taiwan’s experience in digital democracy and the moda’s free the future philosophy. She also planned to discuss with panelists and audience on topics such as cybersecurity, freedom, democracy, digital industry development, disinformation, misinformation and related laws.
 
In addition, Tang will have discussions with participants from Lithuania’s e-commerce, information security and legal sectors on addressing challenges and opportunities in an era of rapidly changing digital technology.
 
Tang plans to share the Taiwan Model of digital democracy and spotlighted the moda’s commitment to working with international partners to defend democracy while promoting peace, stability and inclusive prosperity through digital technology.
 
Staged in association with the institute and education and training outfit Go Forward Academy, F3D is a world-class event attracting inquiring minds from Taiwan, Lithuania and other freedom- and democracy-loving countries throughout the region.
