The Ministry of Digital Affairs Opens Applications for The 2nd Wave of Commercial Satellite Communication Frequencies

The Ministry of Digital affairs (moda) said today that a new application was submitted by TASAT during the opening of the second wave of commercial satellite communications frequencies this March. According to the information submitted by the operator, TAS plans to use EUTELSAT to provide maritime satellite communication services.

The moda pointed out that the international satellite industry is booming rapidly, and various innovative applications are constantly being developed. In the past, areas that were difficult to be reached by signals from the sea or the sky can now be connected to the Internet via satellite at any time for various applications such as business, entertainment, and emergency relief, etc. The moda is pleased to see more and more domestic operators providing related services.

In addition, Lung Hwa Electronics Co. Ltd. and Aerkomm Taiwan Inc. are in the process of confirming the corrective information submitted by them and are expected to be reviewed and submitted to the moda for approval after the Tomb Sweeping holiday to complete the release process.

The moda reminds that the application period for commercial satellite communication frequencies is in March and September every year, and operators wishing to provide satellite services can submit applications to the Ministry with the relevant application documents during the above-mentioned period.
