MODA Unveils 14 “Resilience Technologies” to Build an AI-Enabled, Sustainable Taiwan

As artificial intelligence reshapes the global landscape at unprecedented speed, how can Taiwan secure a sustainable future by harnessing technology? From 16 to 18 October, the Administration for Digital Industries of the Ministry of Digital Affairs (MODA) is hosting the “Empowering Resilience” pavilion at Taiwan Innotech Expo 2025, showcasing 14 cutting-edge achievements in AI sustainability, 5G communications, and satellite technologies. The exhibition underscores Taiwan’s commitment to fortifying digital resilience and serving as the ultimate enabler of smart, sustainable industrial transformation. On the opening day, eleven ministers and agency heads including Minister without Portfolio Wu Cheng-wen of the Executive Yuan, Minister of Economic Affairs Kung Ming-hsin, and Minister of MODA Lin Yi-jhing—personally toured the exhibition floor, gaining first-hand insights into how technologies are empowering industries and propelling Taiwan toward a smarter and more sustainable future.

Minister Lin Yi-jhing stated that technological innovation thrives on open competition among the private sector. When industry, academia and research institutes join forces, emerging technologies can be translated into smart applications that directly benefit the public. The 14 solutions showcased by the Ministry of Digital Affairs—spanning 5G, satellite communications, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and AI—all illustrate this principle. Many have already been deployed in the field. One of the examples is the “Intelligent UAV Digital-Twin Platform”, which enables drone delivery of medicines to remote areas. When Typhoon cut off road access to Guangfu Township, Hualien, the platform was used to airlift essential drugs to affected residents rapidly. By integrating AI, 5G and smart vehicles, the project demonstrates how cutting-edge technology can be transformed into timely, life-saving assistance.

Administration for Digital Industries (ADI) emphasized that this year’s pavilion is built by the theme “Empowering Resilience” and is curated under the concept of “The Hidden Guardians”. The exhibition is organized into three application zones: “Green Intelligence: AI Green-Service Platforms,” “Real-Time Pulse: 5G Communications,” and “Borderless Networks: Satellite & Internet Technologies”—to demonstrate Taiwan’s digital resilience across multiple technological domains and its capacity to accelerate industrial development. Visitors are guided through an immersive journey that reveals how technology is ever-present in daily life, breaks through traditional limitations, and delivers sustainability.

The Green Intelligence zone presents four platforms: the Smart SUP Supply-Chain Innovation Platform, Sustainable Supply-Chain Resilience Cloud, ASPNex All-in-One Carbon-Reduction Service Platform, and AI-Enabled Smart Green-Energy Cloud. Real-Time Pulse zone showcases six applications: 5G Smart-Manufacturing Solution, 5G Innovation & Intelligent-Manufacturing Integration, 5G Private-Network Multi-Site Deployment Service, Intelligent UAV-Digital Twin Platform, 5G Energy-Saving & AI Platform, and 5G AI Medical Assistant Robot. Borderless Networks zone features three technologies: Maritime Satellite-Communication Simulation, Telco Energy-Saving and Management, and Trusted Heterogeneous Networking. Operating silently and steadily behind the scenes, these systems embody MODA’s three-arrow strategy: digital trust, digital resilience, and digital economy, and showcase the true power of “Empowering Resilience.”

ADI stressed that the exhibition aims to broaden public awareness of how AI, 5G and satellite communications quietly protect industry and society, underscoring the tangible value of advanced technologies in everyday life. The Ministry of Digital Affairs will continue to advance its “Empowering Resilience” agenda and sincerely invites stakeholders from all sector to join forces, ensuring that Taiwan remains both a prime motivator and a leading navigator on the global map of smart, sustainable development.
