In response to the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence and its transformative impact on industries and society, the Administration for Digital Industries (ADI), Ministry of Digital Affairs (moda), expanded the annual AI Exhibition. This year, in an unprecedented collaboration, the annual AI extravaganza AI TAIWAN 2023 FUTURE COMMERCE joined forces with Future Commerce. The three-day exhibition took place from June 15th to June 17th, and featuring 11 major thematic exhibition areas, 40 sessions highlighting AI trends, the participation of 130 companies, and over a hundred commercial solutions. The grand opening ceremony was held on June 15th at the EXPO Dome of Taipei Expo Park.

Minister Audrey Tang of moda delivered the opening speech for this annual AI extravaganza through a pre-recorded video. Minister Tang expressed that Taiwan is a nation known for its technological innovation and openness to collaboration. Since 2018, Taiwan has been actively promoting Taiwan AI Action Plan, encompassing areas such as talent cultivation, AI startup subsidies, establishing international hubs, fostering AI in industries, and creating open experimental fields. Through interdepartmental collaboration, Taiwan has achieved significant milestones in these initiatives. This year, the Executive Yuan approved the Taiwan AI Action Plan 2.0, which aims to leverage AI for industrial transformation and upgrading, enhance social well-being through AI applications, and position Taiwan as a global AI leader. This year's AI TAIWAN exhibition revolved around the theme "AI for all," emphasizing that AI can bring value and positive changes to all individuals. We believe AI innovation can make society more innovative and human-centric, leading to increased opportunities and challenges. The exhibition aimed to raise awareness among the public about the importance of digital resilience.

Deputy Minister Huai-Jen Lee of moda delivered a speech at the exhibition, stating that moda officially became a partner of the international organization Collective Intelligence Project (CIP) last month. Starting in August, moda will organize deliberative workshops to discuss how to respond to the development of generative AI. Deputy Minister Lee expressed the hope that moda can become a driving force for AI applications in Taiwan, accelerating the creation of a vibrant world of AI applications. Deputy Minister Lee and distinguished industry representatives from companies such as Microsoft Taiwan, Chiahui Group, Acer ITS Inc., Compal, Taiwan Web Service, SYSCOM, Yuen Foong Yu, AccuHit, and Gogolook, together witnessed the grand opening of this annual event.

Deputy Minister Huai-Jen Lee and Director General Jang-Hwa Leu of ADI explored innovative AI applications across various industries at the Future AI Pavilion and the Future Commerce area. They experienced the latest generation of generative AI applications, including AI content generators by iQ Technology and AI chatbots by GSS. There were also AI industrial-grade camera solutions integrated with intelligent device software by Advantech, the first-ever fully interactive AI service robot with dual arms by Aeolus Robotics, as well as the FAST AI one-stop software system developed by the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). These presentations showcased the comprehensive impact of AI across diverse sectors. Furthermore, the exhibition also included the inaugural AI Awards in Taiwan to commend influential Taiwanese companies and teams from all fields and encourage the talent, companies, technologies, products, and services in Taiwan's AI industry.

The exhibition featured the FAST AI one-stop software system, allowing visitors to experience real-time AI-generated dynamic graphic and text greeting cards. Through on-site photography and background scenario selection, the system could automatically generate and print unique greeting cards with Taiwanese cultural characteristics. This system was designed to assist the cultural and creative industries in quickly producing unique personalized products. The FAST AI also showcased the integrated workflow of AI automatic modeling, including semantic recognition, model training, and automated labeling. It displayed the "No code, Low code" nature of the FAST AI software system, allowing fast development of AI applications without requiring advanced programming skills.

ADI has endeavored to gather the technological achievements in AI across various industries in Taiwan and transform AI TAIWAN 2023 into the premier platform for AI industry exchange and collaboration. Throughout the exhibition, each day was filled with a rich array of cross-domain international forums, including Microsoft's practical forum on generative AI. The event was open to the public for three days, providing free admission and interactive experiences on-site. This exhibition aimed to showcase the strength of Taiwan's AI development to the public and various industries, fostering a more intelligent and progressive future.
