The Ministry of Digital Affairs (moda) promotes 5G-based applications and services in MICE industry. moda also assisted Kaohsiung Exhibition Center in obtaining the first 5G frequency and network usage license in the country. To promote cross-industry collaboration between 5G networks and application technologies, the "2023 Kaohsiung Winter International Travel Fair", bringing the mobile 5G XR Broadcast & Production Service System and XR immersive interactive experiences to the travel exhibition.

Audrey Tang , the Minister of moda , mentioned that 2023 Kaohsiung Winter International Travel Fair marked Taiwan's first 5G digital technology travel fair. Utilizing technologies such as 3D naked-eyed display, AR interactive game, MR immersive experience, and XR streaming interaction, coupled with the 5G network, the event aimed to develop new tourism experiences and create business opportunities through the fusion of digital technology. Audrey Tang emphasized significant progress in the domestic production of 5G networks over the past year and reiterated the department's commitment to enhancing digital resilience and trust.

The Administration for Digital Industries (ADI) of moda expects to empower digital exhibition events through emerging technologies, supporting cross-disciplinary and cross-industry integrated services to drive ongoing innovation in the industrial economy. They also hope to promote digital equity in Taiwan's rural and island areas, demonstrating the limitless potential of applying 5G digital technology to the cultural tourism industry.
