These works reflected the public's rich imagination and expectations for a future of harmonious human-AI integration.
MODA explained that the Ideathon aims to embrace the public's imagination and expectations for digital development while realizing the spirit of open government. This year's event, themed "WeWe Futures: 2040 Extended Intelligence", continued the legacy of fostering collective creation and future vision under the WeWe Futures framework.
Participants were encouraged to envision positive values of extended intelligence in various environments, including daily life, communities, and workplaces. Through cross-disciplinary collaboration and public-private partnerships, the Ideathon seeks to inspire innovative
development of future extended intelligence technologies and promote Taiwan as an international model for digital innovation.
This year's competition, dated March 29th to July 15th, received 3,215 submissions, including 685 from India, Malaysia, South Korea, and Singapore. After an initial screening, 100 submissions were selected for the Idea Award. The semi-finals further narrowed these down to 30 Great Idea Award recipients; the MODA then matched the recipients with innovation, entrepreneurship, and future design experts to refine their concepts. Finally, ten projects won the prestigious Golden Idea Award. The submissions revealed a strong public focus on disaster relief and rescue, support for disadvantaged groups, elderly care, marine and environmental ecology, and food production cycles. These entries highlight a keen awareness of societal challenges and a collective vision for a future where humans and AI coexist harmoniously.
Minister Huang congratulated the winning teams and thanked participants from Taiwan and abroad for their enthusiasm. He noted how the Ideathon reflects global and Taiwanese perspectives on future trends and critical issues. The MODA plans to support the ongoing development of winning projects and will provide the project to relevant government departments as references in policymaking. The Ideathon aims to remain a driving force for fostering innovative thinking, extending its spirit to all sectors of society, and turning collective good and innovative value into sustained momentum for Taiwan's progress.
