MODA: The Universal Cash Handout Website Resumes Stable Operations; Public Encouraged to Apply Online
The Ministry of Digital Affairs (MODA) announced today (19th) that the universal cash handout website has experienced intermittent connection instability since 7:28 PM yesterday (18th), due to a global service disruption of the international CDN service provider Cloudflare. Through the close cooperation and swift emergency response by MODA and Cloudflare, the universal cash handout website, 10000.gov.tw, was fully restored to normal service at 10:42 PM yesterday, with the total service disruption lasting approximately 3 hours.
MODA thanked the public for their patience and understanding during the incident and reiterated that the public's right to receive the universal cash handout was not affected in any way by this technical incident. The website traffic is currently stable. Eligible individuals are encouraged to make full use of the online application service and enjoy a smooth, convenient experience.
In response to this global anomaly, Cloudflare later explained that the problem stemmed from an error during a system-level configuration update, which caused some services to crash. Upon the occurrence of the anomaly, MODA immediately activated its emergency response mechanism, establishing a dedicated communication channel with Cloudflare. Through this close collaboration and continuous tracking of the service restoration progress, system verification and configuration rollback were completed as quickly as possible. During the process, MODA simultaneously ensured the integrity of the universal cash handout website's data and information security defenses.
MODA will closely review the comprehensive analysis report subsequently provided by Cloudflare. Based on this report, MODA will strengthen the government's backup mechanisms for addressing similar international service disruptions and enhance overall system resilience. To ensure that the public can complete the online registration process smoothly and with peace of mind, MODA will strengthen real-time monitoring and traffic management for the universal cash handout website, ensuring high availability and connection stability.
