MODA Promotes the Internationalization of the Cybersecurity Industry by Hosting an International Market Expansion Strategy Forum to Help Companies Expand into Overseas Markets

To further promote the international development of Taiwan’s cybersecurity industry, Minister Lin Yi-jing of the Ministry of Digital Affairs (MODA) personally hosted the “International Market Expansion Strategy Forum” today (May 6) during the CYBERSEC 2026. The forum invited the Industrial Technology Research Institute and eight cybersecurity companies with extensive international market expansion experience—including CHT Security, Changing Information Technology, Team T5, WiSECURE Technologies, CyCraft Technology, UPAS, Lionic, and Janus Cyber—to share practical experiences ranging from market entry strategies and exhibition networking to follow-up business opportunity development. The event attracted more than one hundred Taiwanese cybersecurity companies and professionals. Exchanges were highly engaging, jointly creating new momentum for bringing Taiwan’s cybersecurity brand onto the international stage.

Minister Lin pointed out that Taiwan possesses two irreplaceable competitive advantages that support the global expansion of its cybersecurity industry. The first is the promotion of the semiconductor equipment cybersecurity standard SEMI E187. Taiwan accounts for more than 90% of the world’s advanced AI chip manufacturing capacity, making it an indispensable core link in the global supply chain. Taiwan has been actively promoting the transformation of this standard into a concrete international specification, elevating itself from a follower of standards to a setter of standards. Any company seeking to cooperate with TSMC or supply semiconductor equipment must obtain SEMI E187 certification. This has consequently created three major business opportunities: certification services, consulting and advisory services, and hardware/software sales. Second, Taiwan serves as a “Honey Pot” for the free world. Taiwan faces more than 2.6 million cyberattacks every day, particularly threats originating from China. These attack and defense data give Taiwan a more realistic and timely understanding of cyber threats than most countries, providing Taiwan with the unique qualifications to serve as a “global threat expert.”

The forum focused on topics including international market trends, product positioning, and business opportunity development. Participating companies pointed out that the key to international market expansion lies not only in product technology, but also in clearly defining market positioning, building trust-based relationships, and gradually deepening cooperation through continuous interaction. Minister Lin stated that the next critical stage for Taiwan’s cybersecurity industry is to strengthen product differentiation and international connectivity, ensuring that Taiwanese solutions continue to be adopted by global markets. MODA will help companies lower barriers to market expansion through international exhibitions, industry connectivity, and alignment with standards. It is hoped that the experience-sharing from this forum will enable more companies to better grasp market dynamics and promote Taiwan’s cybersecurity brand globally. During the exhibition, Minister Lin also visited the booths of all eight participating companies and listened to their on-site demonstrations, demonstrating through concrete actions the government’s support for and commitment to the cybersecurity industry, serving as the strongest backing for the international expansion of the “Cyber Taiwan” brand.
