Applying for Student Loans Is Now Hassle-Free! MODA’s MyData Online System Allows Users to Collect Household Registration Information with Just One Click
Applications for student loans for the first semester of the 2026 academic year are open from August 1 to September 30. To simplify the application process, the “Human-Centered Data Use (MyData) Platform ” developed by the Ministry of Digital Affairs (MODA) has partnered with the Bank of Taiwan’s student loan system. When students apply for loans online through the Bank of Taiwan’s student loan portal, they can directly obtain the registration information for all members of the current household from the Ministry of the Interior’s Department of Household Registration through the MyData platform. Replacing traditional paper certificates entirely, this eliminates the need to visit household registration offices and simplifies document preparation, resulting in a more convenient application process.
Ms. Zou, a civil servant living in Zhongli, Taoyuan, shared that after learning about the convenient services offered by the MyData platform, she suggested her children use it to apply for their student loans. They found that by logging into the Bank of Taiwan student loan portal, filling out the application form, and following the on-screen instructions to link to the MyData platform, complete identity verification, and grant consent, they could directly obtain their household registration information and transmit it to the bank, eliminating the need to apply in person at a service desk. Ms. Zou exclaimed, “We gathered all the necessary information online without stepping foot in a government office. The whole process was so convenient!”
MODA stated that the MyData platform operates on the core principles of “citizen consent and secure data acquisition .” Subject to people’s consent, the platform leverages secure cross-agency data integration to help citizens quickly obtain the application materials they require online, thus lowering document preparation barriers and travel costs while delivering more convenient digital government services.
MODA reminds students that the application deadline for student loans for the first semester of the 2026 academic year is September 30, and encourages those in need to take full advantage of the MyData platform and Bank of Taiwan’s online application service. MODA is also in ongoing discussions with various agencies to expand the scope of collaboration, aiming to roll out even more convenient services for the public.
