WSIC 2026 opens in Taipei, bringing together nearly 200 international participants
The 2026 World System Integrator Conference (WSIC) opened today (March 18) at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 2. The event attracted industry representatives from Europe, Southeast Asia, and South Asia. Nearly 200 participants from government, industry, and academia attended, creating a vibrant atmosphere for exchange.
Betty Hu, Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Digital Affairs, attended the event.She led Taiwanese digital enterprises in engaging with international partners.Through forum discussions, business matchmaking, and partnership dialogues,participants explored global opportunities arising from AI and smart city development.
This year’s conference is themed “AI-Driven Smart Cities and Global Opportunities.” It focuses on the application of artificial intelligence in urban governance, public services, and industrial upgrading. Representatives from major international organisations were invited to Taiwan, including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Indonesia’s APTIKNAS,Vietnam’s VINASA, Thailand’s depa, Malaysia’s MyIoTA, and India’s FICCI. They shared insights on market demand and development trends in AI and smart city initiatives. They also engaged in in-depth discussions with Taiwanese enterprises to foster cross-border collaboration.
Chief Secretary Hu noted that AI is rapidly transforming global urban governance and industrial development. She added that smart cities have become a key driver of digital transformation worldwide. As an important platform for international system integration, WSIC enables Taiwanese companies to engage directly with global partners. This year, experts from Canada were also invited to share practical experience in AI and smart city applications. These exchanges help align Taiwan’s smart solutions with international market needs.
The Ministry of Digital Affairs has long supported Taiwanese enterprises in expanding overseas. It connects upstream and downstream industry players,forms national teams, and promotes Taiwan’s smart solutions internationally. It also works with foreign governments and industry partners to facilitate market access. This year’s WSIC demonstrated these efforts in practice. A total of six international Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) were signed during the event,witnessed by Chief Secretary Hu.
Taiwanese companies, including YC Holdings, Optiqb AI Technology, International Integrated Systems, 3Egreen, and Intumit, signed agreements with partners from Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, and Eswatini. The cooperation covers areas such as carbon management platforms, AI 3D solutions, 5G smart city applications,and energy-saving systems. These outcomes highlight Taiwan’s capability in expanding digital solutions to global markets.
The Ministry of Digital Affairs stated that it will continue to leverage platforms such as WSIC. It aims to strengthen global system integration ecosystems and support Taiwanese solutions in entering overseas markets. The ministry will also promote further collaboration in smart city and AI applications, enhancing Taiwan’s visibility and competitiveness in the global digital economy.
In addition, a pre-event business matchmaking session was arranged. Through one-on-one meetings, it facilitated in-depth engagement between Taiwanese and overseas enterprises. This also helped explore potential collaboration opportunities and create further partnership opportunities.
