New Experience of Taiwan Culture and Technology Exhibition "Spring Prelude to the World" - 5G Mobile Vehicle Local Tour Kick-off

To promote a new experience of integrating technology into Taiwanese culture, and to drive the flourishing development of digital assets through software empowerment, the Administration for Digital Industries, Ministry of Digital Affairs (hereafter referred to as moda) showcased the first 5G mobile production and broadcasting system and XR immersive stage (referred to as the 5G mobile vehicle) application technology to assist in the development of the cultural technology service ecology. At the same time, the 5G mobile vehicle was launched from north to south, combining various cultural themes in Taiwan for local tours.

The " Spring Prelude to the World " event is the first local tour of the 5G mobile vehicle, and one of the highlights is the use of AR/VR technology to create a " gaze afar hometown " (望鄉) interactive experience in three stages based on the famous Taiwanese artist Kuo Hsueh Hu's painting "Nanjie Yin Zhen"(南街殷賑). The exhibition was carried out using the first 5G mobile production and broadcasting system developed by the Institute for Information Industry, combined with naked-eye 3D and XR projection technology, allowing audiences to experience a virtual reality and travel through time and space into the old Dadaocheng.

Lee Huai-jen, the Deputy Minister of MODA, stated that the ministry bears a significant responsibility in leading Taiwan's digital transformation and integrating with the international community. By leveraging the power of cross-ministerial collaboration, the ministry aims to assist domestic businesses in aligning their creative and technological capabilities to co-create new exhibition and interaction models. It is hoped that in the future, more internet communication application providers and interactive 3D software developers can work together across domains to deepen the application of key technologies such as Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Extended Reality (XR), to promote digital transformation in the industry and foster cross-industry collaboration.

Betty Hu, the Deputy Director-General of the Administration for Digital Industries (ADI) of MODA, mentioned that the ADI not only prioritizes the development of industries related to the digital economy and the application of digital technology, but also pays more attention to the development of emerging industries related to cross-field integration, using digital technology to empower cross-border creation and assist cultural technology services for the best results of ecological development. This echoes ADI’s four major strategic pillars-RISE, which stands for Resilience, Integration, Security and Empowerment, where Resilience means expanding the cultivation of digital talents for 5G applications, and enhancing the capacity of information and communication technology in various industries and the digital resilience of the public; through Integration, establishing a co-creation cultural technology integrating new services and resources of various ministries, and assisting the upgrading and transformation of the cultural industry with communication technology; finally, applying Security and Empowerment to enable all walks of life to realize information security, and promote 5G transmission and emerging industries, while accelerating the establishment of an ecological chain of emerging industries in Taiwan.
